Through years of extensive research, CFI has pioneered an aquatic amphipod breeding program of the Gammarus lacustris freshwater shrimp. This high-protein, carotene-rich scud produces tremendous growth rates in the gamefish that prey on them. Whether introducing a scud population into a new fishery, or propelling the productivity of an existing one, the Gammarus lacustris is a proven way to ensure an extremely high quality, productive fishery.
Baitfish are another important forage base, and necessary to maintain healthy populations of piscivorous (fish-eating) gamefish. CFI offers stocking of fathead minnows to boost forage supplies in lake and pond environments.
